Mentions and Tagging

Tagging/Mentioning is supported for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok

While on the Create a Post page, if you have only a Facebook account selected OR only a Twitter account selected OR only a LinkedIn account selected, you can tag/mention a user by typing @ and then some letters:

If you have more than 1 social network account selected, you will need to click the ✏️ icon to customize your post for each social network:

Once you select the Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn tab, you will then be able to tag/mention users in your post:

NOTE: You can only tag company pages on Facebook and LinkedIn. Tagging of personal Facebook profile and personal LinkedIn profiles is not supported by Facebook and LinkedIn's APIs.

Tagging TikTok accounts

TikTok's API does not have a username auto-complete feature like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn do, but you can tag/mention users in TikTok posts by simply putting their @username in the caption of your post. Just make sure to verify that the @username is exactly right!

Tagging Instagram accounts and tagging in images on Instagram

Instagram's API does not have a username auto-complete feature like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn do, but you can tag/mention users in Instagram posts by simply putting their @username in the caption of your post. Just make sure to verify that the @username is exactly right!

If you want to tag users in the image of your Instagram post, you can do so by clicking here:

Once clicked, you will have the option to tag public Instagram usernames in the image:

You’re able to add up to 20 tags on an image for a single image post.

For carousel posts, the tagged accounts in the image are carried over for each image in the carousel. You can only have 20 tags total across ALL the images in your carousel.

Due to limitations in Instagram's API, OneUp is not able to auto-complete the @username handle and you will need to enter the exact @username handle of the Instagram user you’d like to mention. Additionally, we’re not able to check if the Instagram account is private or even if it exists. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to check each username link that appears on the right hand side to ensure the correct @username has been entered and the account is not private. If any tags on your image are for private users, or for an account that doesn’t exist, the post will fail to publish and you’ll see an error message.

Collab posts

OneUp also supports tagging Collaborators on Instagram posts:
